Doctrine

GFCC is an independent (autonomous), un-denominational, back to the Bible church. We do our best to seek unity for the sake of God's mission by following Scripture.

What we believe

God

God is one God, existing in three persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), who created all things and made them "very good" for relationship with Him (Gen 1:31).

The Bible

The Bible is God's inspired and authoritative word (2 Tim 3:16-17. 2 Pet 1:20-21). It points us to Jesus, who shows us who God is and how God wants us to live.

Sin

Sin is living out of line with God's design and desire. It destroys everything that God made good (Gen 3:1-24) and brings death to everything it touches (Rom 6:23).

Jesus

Jesus is the image of God (Col 1:15), and he embodies what God wanted humanity to be and do (Gen 1:26-28). He came into this world for us, showed us what life done God’s way looks like, died for us, rose for us, intercedes for us, and will come again for us. Because of Jesus, everything sin has destroyed can be made new (Col 1:15-20).

Salvation

We are saved by God's grace, through our faith (Eph 2:8). Faith includes believing in Jesus, confessing Jesus as Lord and Christ (Rom 10:9-10), adjusting our minds and lives to look like His, and being immersed in water to receive the forgiveness of sin and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:36-38).

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit marks Christians as “children of God” (Rom 8:14-17) and guides us as we seek to live lives pleasing to our Father. The Spirit helps us live holy lives (Rom 8:5-7; 1 Thes 4:1-8) and gives us gifts that enable us to continue Jesus’ work until he comes (1 Cor 12-14; Rom 12:1-8).

The Church

All who are saved are part of God's family, the church (Acts 2:47). The church exists to share the good news of salvation in Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20). We do this by doing good works and also by sharing the good news until Jesus returns.

The Future

God will not let the devastation of sin have the final word. God will judge the world one day, destroying evil finally and forever. Those who embrace God's way will live eternally with him and one another in the Kingdom of God (Revelation 21-22).
