Feeding The Hungry
‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
We are called to feed the hungry. We have a couple formal programs, outside of the many ways our members provide for the needy in their daily lives:
Ongoing Food Drive
We have a permanent food drive for Great Falls Community Food Bank. Each month we feature a different item in the bulletin, but any nonperishable items are always welcome. These go into a barrel, and when it's full, the food bank comes and picks up what we have collected, which they then distribute.
Meals on Wheels Cookies
We help provide Meals on Wheels with home-baked cookies for their delivery lists. These cookies in turn are delivered as parts of meals to people who may be incapable of getting out of their house. Our members volunteer to bake batches of cookies, which are then brought to our building, divided up, and then given to Meals on Wheels. If you would like to help with this, keep an eye in the bulletin!
